The Elbow Room is a chain of pool lounges, currently with venues in Leeds and Bristol. The Leeds venue has been running for 15 years and seeks to bring the atmosphere of an authentic American pool hall with a modern British twist. It boasts 14 Sam K pool tables and is open every day of the week between noon and midnight. The tables cost different prices at different times of day and play is usually limited to one hour when there is a queue, but can be pre-booked for a set amount of time. The Elbow Room has 12 flat screen TVs and 2 large screens in the bar showing all the major sporting events, from premiership football to rugby union and league, and is fully licensed to serve alcohol as well as meals from its traditional bar menu, which includes burgers, steaks, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. The Bristol venue offers a more laid-back and urban approach, with the graffiti style artwork synonymous with the city. It is open later than the Leeds branch, with closing times extended to 2am during the week and as late as 4am on weekends. It boasts 2 eight-foot tables as well as a selection of standard sized tables that can be played on for free every day until 5pm, and for a small fee thereafter. Like its Leeds counterpart, the Bristol Elbow Room offers live sport on its many TV screens, and even plays host to live music.
