Located in one of London's most Bohemian districts, the North Star pub reflects its surroundings in a dignified yet traditional presence. Hoxton and Islington are renowned for the cultural artiness of the young professional residents; this is reflected in the clientele of the pub but The North Star also attracts drinkers from across the capital and beyond. As well as ubiquitous foreign lagers, guests can also choose between house wines, cocktails and draught bitters. After enjoying a few drinks in good company, there are very good tube, rail and bus links from outside the pub, so patrons don't need to worry about getting a taxi home. Much of what is said to recommend The North Star comes from the kitchen. While the term “gastropub” often brings negative connotations, this pub serves food that strikes the right balance between affordability and quality; the chefs turn out fresh meals using quality ingredients. At a fine dining establishment, the sommelier often recommends a wine to compliment the food; here at the North Star the friendly and attractive bar staff will be happy to recommend something.
