Located in the enchanting environs of Tower Bridge, Tower Tandoori is a unique and very welcoming Indian restaurant. It bears the accolade of being Bermondsey's oldest Indian restaurant, and has been run by the same friendly family since it was established in 1978. With its cool and comfortable decor, inspired by Indian palaces, and its cosy and relaxed atmosphere, Tower Tandoori is a wonderful venue for enjoying authentic Indian food. The restaurant specialises in romantic dinners, and is hence a very popular venue for couples who are looking to eat out on Valentine's Day. Tower Tandoori is particularly handy as it offers both a takeaway and an eat-in service. Unlike many Indian restaurants operating today, the food at Tower Tandoori is cooked using a traditional Tandoor oven, fueled with charcoal. This gives the food a delectably traditional taste, and really does make the difference. Both meat eaters and vegetarians are catered for at this exciting London restaurant, with a great variety of foods on offer. Appetisers include a large mixed vegetable starter platter, for instance, which includes pakora, bhaji, samosa, and aloo chaat, and is perfect both for couples to share or for hungry diners to eat by themselves. Main courses include old favourites such as Tikka Masala and Rogan Josh, and are all expertly cooked. Traditional Indian desserts, from indulgent Kulfi to refreshing sorbets are also on offer for customers to end their meal in style.
