Chapattis N Curries offers an array of subcontinental cooking classes in Manchester and Stockport. These range from two-hour chapatti-making classes to full-day curry-making courses. Cuisine is made using a tava and cooked over an open flame in the traditional Indian way.
A few good tips from a warm and caring tutor.
Take your own pans and equipment (others within the group had an e-mail saying what to bring, but I did not, so was unaware of requirements). For me not a great learning curve, but as cooking is my passion I enjoyed the challenge of sharing a work station with a stranger and creating a dish on a "foreign" cooker.
The extra Thali and download recipes (£10 each) were in my mind not worth the extra cash I paid.
All in all a good day out and met some lovely classmates, came home with a curry and Chapattis which could possibly have been better from my home kitchen without a tutor or recipe.

One star is pushing it. First class cancelled and not notified rebooked cancelled again been ignored by the company when emailing them. Doesn't seem like they can keep up with the demand.
Yasmin is an engaging and enthusiastic class leader, but I suspect she does not have any formal teaching qualifications. The class was great fun, but poorly organised and a bit chaotic. You are given a demonstration and then left to get on with it. Fine, if you are confident in the kitchen, but not if you are looking for step by step teaching. Overall, good, but could be improved with some planning and structure to the session.
