The Manchester Guitar Academy provide guitar lessons for individuals as well as advice and coaching for groups wishing to form a band or musical ensemble. The academy was founded by two students of the Royal Northern College Of Music. Lessons are given by professional musicians who perform regularly in the UK and are carefully selected to provide a high quality and fun learning experience. All tutors are fully CRB certified. The academy cater to a variety of styles of music including rock, pop, jazz and classical. Lessons can be provided in both electric and acoustic guitar and some tutors can also give lessons in bass and mandolin. All lessons can be tailored to the learning style of the individual. The academy organise concerts each year to enable students to gain the experience of playing to a crowd and they encourage students to form bands or musical partnerships with friends or fellow students. As well as learning to play guitar the lessons also include music reading, song structures and improvisation skills. Students can learn to arrange and compose their own music as well as developing their listening skills. There is an exam syllabus available for those wishing to gain qualifications but these are not compulsory and students are free to attend simply for the enjoyment of learning at their own pace. If a student recommends lessons to a friend then both the student and friend will receive one free lesson.
