The Groupon voucher clearly stated, in a number of places, that it included coffee for both the standard and with the optional glass of Prosecco, which was at extra cost. We did not complain when the stated 4 mini cakes were substituted for a very small slice of cake, but then we were informed that although we had paid 40% extra for the optional glass of Prosecco coffee was not included, this was totally at odds with the deal. Quote, "Tea is served to keep with tradition or it can be swapped with an americano or a cappucinno while a glass of Prosecco is ALSO up for slurps". In another place coffee details are followed by the option of a glass of Prosecco. The managers view was that if you had Prosecco then you paid for the coffee. OPTIONAL at additional cost does not mean substitution! The manager and waitress said this had happened on numerous occasions before so there is definitely an issue of not offering what is clearly stated. Without the coffee the voucher also becomes poor value particulatly when compared with the savings that are normally available. However this was not the worse aspect of this situation it was the managers stance which went well behond assertive into aggressive which is wholly unprofessional and made for a very unpleasant experience. Surely the idea of these vouchers is to get additional customers through an initial special offering so they return and become regular customers.
