New venture Nectar, on Newcastle's Pilgrim Street, is already a hit, having won the award for 2013 Best Bar in the North East. The long cocktail list, brimming with mojitos and margaritas, meets an equally impressive menu of bottled, draught and imported beers. Headed by a chef whose previous post was running the successful Quay Ingredient restaurant, the kitchen prepares sharing platters and signature dishes using organic produce from the venue's very own garden.
