Don't go on a Sunday afternoon . . Very quiet
Got there they had run out of bratwurst sausage only had chicken schnitzel left. One tent there with one stage playing regular chart music. Didn't feel anything like German. Thumbs down for me, won't go again.
It was a little less German than I was expecting and full of very drunk groups (stags & )
The staff serving drinks and food were great, friendly and helpful. The rest of the experience was just hassle.
Website said it started at 5...we got there then and were told 6pm.I'd had to change my shift to make it for 5,so that was annoying. We went back just before 6. A queue had started to form which we joined. There were plenty of security staff around outside who watched, waited until the queue had grown a bit, then made everyone move further down the square. The poor people at the front who had been waiting in the wind for ages lost their front spot as the moving of the queue was badly managed.
Once they started letting people in, two queues formed, but only on getting to the very front of one of them were people told it was the vip queue.. No signage,no communication. Once we eventually got in, we were told our Groupon vouchers were only valid for the daytime session. There was no mention of that that any of us could find. A group in front of us were having the same problem. We were all told we would have to pay extra to come in. Luckily the group in front of us found someone to speak to about it who sorted it and let us in without extra charge, but it coloured the whole experience. We ended up not staying long as we didn't like the beer, and went on to have a much nicer evening in a nearby bar.
Was this helpful?
Beer was over priced and the staff didn't know what was going on
Overpriced once there, got very little for your money
Bought tickets for my husband and sons. They had a really good time and said the cost of the ticket was reasonable.
Queues horrendous, had to keep putting arm up for food and drinks which took ages to be served. Tables and benches filthy. Band played 3 good songs then had a break. Just not a good event and certainly not worth the money even with a discount.
On the whole we really enjoyed our experience. Just a couple of things to note for future events; provide more toilets, 8 for 1600 people doesn't equate. Have more staff, we saw lots of people waiting for a long time for someone to take their food ticket. Other than that, great laugh.
