From Our Editors

Nestled in the scenic village of Blisworth in south Northamptonshire, The Royal Oak is situated in a 15th-century listed building which has been carefully restored to retain its original character. The venue features exposed beams and brick walls, open fires and hanging hops that create a cosy and relaxed atmosphere, and guests can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining in the restaurant's gardens. Focused on using locally sourced produce, The Royal Oak serves up a diverse array of lunch dishes, as well as a selection of pasta and pizzas.

Very old and friendly pub. Very busy, which probably contributed to the slow service, which didn't matter to us.

Smell of Indian food as soon as we entered. Seating was very poor, had to use 2 cushions to sit in tub chairs! Window seating was just as bad. Had to put 2 round tables together to seat 4 people. Not ideal. However, food was ok on the whole, although they need to learn how to cook apple crumble.... instead of using baby apple food and can't begin to describe the toppingbut definitely wasn't crumble!! Won't be going again and certainly wouldn't recommend.

No atmosphere. The food we had was luke warm at best, roast potatoes burnt. No staff visible to say. Little, tip for the staff - always go and ask customer if everything is ok.
