Love festive afternoon tea in the vaulted hall. The scones were really good. It was a shame we were the only people there though.

Was expecting Tea to take place in the Orangery - Instead it was n the Cloisters...Disappointing. Sandwiches looked tired . . . fillings were not of a high quality and cakes were bought in - Service was satisfactory, although I was told that milk for the tea could not be heated. Such a Grand location demands a Grand style Tea and experience ... It failed on both counts.

Slightly different from the normal afternoon tea where this is served in the Vaulted Tea Room rather than the conservatory (the conservatory is lovely but cold in Winter!). Sandwiches were lovely, scones very nice with jam and cream, and cakes were delicious. (Each person gets 4 sandwiches: tuna/cucumber, turkey and cranberry, cant remember what the other two were), one scone and a cake - which even I struggled to eat and that really is saying something). Really nice setting, staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful, endless tea provided. All in all, just a really nice afternoon tea in a wonderful interesting setting. Talking to the staff this was their first year I do hope that they do it again next year. We felt that as well as getting a great afternoon tea, we were also helping to keep this wonderful building and setting maintained. Only thing to consider was that the room was full when we arrived and although we had a booked time slot, we were required to wait for a little time after our booking to wait for a table. However this certainly did not take any enjoyment away from the experience. Hopefully will be booking for next year...

The afternoon tea was great!! Shame not able to tour the house though..there are only two tours a day and we had missed it so house was closed. If we had known on booking would have adjusted our visit times. Looks lovely though

Paid extra for the tour which was very good and the best part of the visit. The tea was OK but I am pleased we had a groupon voucher because it would not have been good value at full price.
