Salford Community Leisure has many different ways to help maintain health and well being. As a division of the Salford Community council; many of the activities are free, so there are no financial limitations. There are also many outdoor spaces, with over 60 different parks to relax in, 5 of which have received the Green Flag award for outstanding quality and cleanliness. Many events are also hosted throughout the park such as guided walks and tours, while schools often partake in outdoor education sessions so students can come and learn all about the local wildlife and biology. Salford Community Leisure also owns a host of sports facilities and leisure centres which offer specific fitness programmes to members which have previously signed up. With many museums and galleries, Salford Community Leisure provides something that's suitable for people of all ages and walks of life. Salford Museum and Art Gallery hosts constantly changing contemporary exhibitions alongside various events. The Salford Local History Library is another popular leisure spot, particularly for people who are interested in researching their family history. Local events occur all year round and a listing on the Salford Community Leisure website summarises everything that's happening in the near future, these include musical gigs, guided walks and tours, exhibitions and talks. The cities many public libraries are a ideal place to learn about different subjects too, with thousands of books to read and borrow as well as free computer usage.
