Dating back to 1320, The Haunch Of Venison is listed on CAMRA's National Inventory for its historic interior featuring enormous oak beams. The dining room situated on the first floor offers contemporary British dishes that can be accompanied by a range of wines, beers and real ales. The pub is believed to be haunted by the ghost of the cheating card player, whose smoke-mummified hand is hidden in a former bread oven under the fire place.

Poor service. And tried to tell us that coffee and tea are not included in an afternoon tea deal till he checked with his manager.

The 'Hauch of Venison' is situated in the heart of the historic city of Salibury with its old beams quirky features. I would not say the 'Afternoon Tea' was the best we have ever experienced but the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Though the restaurant food looked delicious and well presented, which we will try on another occasion.

My mum and godmother had a fantastic afternoon here, the staff were attentive and they even came away with goodybags as there was too much food to eat.

Lovely little restaurant, full of character, shame we could not see out of the dirty windows when the sun shone on them. Our starters were great, but the main was a disappointment. My sea trout was cooked beautifully, but the asparagus and tomatoes were undercooked and the whole dish was swimming in oil. My partners chicken was dry and not very enjoyable. Couple on the next table who were having venison were raving about their meal.
