From Our Editors

Situated in the centre of Swan Square on the very spot where an inn called The George and Dragon stood in the mid-17th century, The George Hotel's long and colourful past is as evident in its architecture as it is in its decor. The hotel's accommodations include more than 40 en suite rooms as well as suites of the honeymoon and executive variety. Complete with a large-capacity ballroom, a boardroom, a flambe suite and a restaurant, The George is prepared to accommodate parties of varying sizes and requirements.

Service was great but for cream tea I would have preferred smaller fancy cakes to be home made as had a shop bought feel. Plenty of tea available 👍

Lovely sandwiches. Just let down by shop brought scones and cakes. Home made would have given them top marks. Lovely place.

Polite, friendly staff. Good value for money. Really tasty sandwiches. Cake portions too large. Presentation would benefit from dainty bite size portions.
