Established in 1988, Mrs Gills Cakes was founded by a woman who refused to suffer poverty as her husband lost his job, but instead chose to bounce back and take matters into her own hands. The bakery strives to uphold the traditional methods to this day, using a wealth of local ingredients such as free-range eggs, English butter and flour. Cakes come in a variety of flavours, including lemon drizzle, sticky ginger or chocolate and pecan. Mrs Gills Cakes can be hired to prepare birthday and wedding cakes as well.
