Since 1958 Druckers Vienna Patisserie has expanded from a tiny coffee lounge on the site of an old bookshop to a nationwide chain of cafes. Over 80 highly trained bakers and chefs provide an extensive array of handmade patisserie cakes and celebration cakes, as well as a selection of gluten-free versions, all made from locally-sourced produce. Diners can enjoy sweet and savoury lunches, breakfasts and snacks. Clients can also customise their own cakes using the virtual cake creator available on the Druckers Vienna Patisserie website.
The staff were very good, and we had a very relaxing afternoon tea there.
An excellent afternoon tea. Delicious and finely cut sandwiches, good cream tea with scones and really high quality dainty cakes. With the bonus of a choice of 4 more cake slices to take away. Helpful and personable staff. What's not to like?
Well on the voucher it says 'no booking required' but when we went for the Groupon offer of Ciabitta @ 1pm there were only 2 left, one of which was not a choice I would have made.
Lovely afternoon tea , the staff at wsm were lovely food was it displayed nice .. good selection . We also purchased the treat box to take away . Excellent value for money would def purchase again xx
Not much stock available as store is closing down shortly but the staff were great and a satisfactory compromise was reached to accommodate our needs. Great service, great food, great deal.
The staff were reasonably helplful but the patisserie itself left a lot to be desired - not the place itself but the selection it had to offer.
All the savoury items were pre-packed and just cut in half when served. Scones were about 5 cms (2 inches) in diameter, quite hard. Tesco's cheapest I would guess. Clotted cream had to be purchased in M&S nearby as they had run out, and was not a generous portion by any means. Jam was the small jars provided in motorway services - not nice or tasty, just bland.
No thought was given to separate plates and cutlery for savoury and sweet dishes i.e. spreading cream and jam after cutting rolls, sandwiches and croisants.
All in all very disappointing, and the more so as it was a treat for two friends.
Food was good and staff were friendly.
Just be warned, it says on the voucher ‘No booking required’ but when we went to the Coventry branch, they asked if we had booked! They couldn’t give us the cream tea with the mini sandwiches, so had to choose something from the cabinet, we did have a large scone each, instead of two mini ones, and 5 mini slices.
