Set amidst 14 acres of woodland and gardens, the Urr Valley Country House Hotel is well situated for further exploration of the history, wildlife and city sights of Dumfries and Galloway. The hotel is located close to Castle Douglas, known as a ‘Food Town’ where visitors can get a taste of the region’s cuisine. City sights abound at Dumfries, accessible via car within 30 minutes, where sights include the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and the Twelve Apostles Stone Circle. En suite facilities, including a bath tub and shower, are available in each of the hotel’s 17 rooms. As well as hot drink making facilities, the rooms are also fitted with a hairdryer, plus a TV for evening entertainment. Pets are welcome to join guests for a £5 per pet per night surcharge. A full Scottish breakfast each morning kicks off the day, while guests can also opt to include a two-course meal during their stay. Meals are served in the hotel’s restaurant, while a cosy bar and lounge complete with a log fire is ideal for informal drinks. The hotel also offers a laundry service for a surcharge, as well as drying and ironing facilities. Free WiFi is included in public areas. Babies 24 months or under stay for free; children aged 2 to 9 years stay for £15 per chid per night; 10 to 15 years for £20 per child per night; child 16 years or older for £25 per child per night.
