If you are booking an afternoon tea and you wish to eat outside, try to make sure you get a table with a parasol or your cakes will melt (as ours did!)

Lovely garden centre to look round and so much choice inside and outside. Great gift ideas, books, clothing, cafe is lovely and food is always good and plenty of it and really friendly staff, nice sitting in the conservatory area having afternoon tea.

Great food and service, only negative was there was no choice for fillings in the sandwiches and as a vegetarian ham and tomato didn't work for me. Great little restaurant and attentive staff.

Bought a cream tea as treat for my mum, little disappointed i have to say, staff were very nice but when it arrived, sandwiches were very plain and nothing special, , thin ham with chunks of tomato, processed sliced cheese with very soggy cucumber and scone was very dry. I did not want to make a fuss as mums treat but thought you might like feedback. lovely garden centre though.

I purchased Group On vouchers for myself and five friends to have cream teas at a Wyevale Garden Centre. I booked our table four weeks in advance in thier Ferring centre. On our arrival at the café, we were surprised that there was no table prepared for us. We were left to move tables and chairs to suit ourselves. When no one came to take our order I had to find a member of staff at the counter to ask for some service. A young man took our drinks order and our teas and coffees were brought to us on a tray which was left in the middle of the table for us to organise. I had to return to the counter to find teaspoons and sugar. We had virtually finished our drinks before our cream teas were bought out to us. We were given cheese & cucumber and ham & tomato sandwiches (no choice was offered to us) which we could not share equally because each one was cut into three. The vegetarian in our group had only one option. I had to return to the counter to get serviettes and knives as these were not bought to us. Once we had eaten our sandwiches, I returned to the counter again to hear the staff chatting in the kitchen and no one in the café serving customers. I had to call to get attention. I expressed my disappointment at the service we had received so far that afternoon and requested more tea and coffee. The young girl who came from the kitchen said there were only two staff and that they were very busy but there were not many people in the café, maybe half a dozen tables. More drinks arrived and again the tray was just left on our table for us to sort. None of the empty crockery was taken away until we had loaded the tray and requested the waiter remove them. While the food served was delicious, we feel our afternoon out was spoilt by the lack of sandwich choice, our having to keep going to the counter to request necessary items and most definitely by the lack of service your staff provided. We had gone to have a lovely afternoon relaxing and catching up with each other instead I was running backwards and forwards fetching and carrying and trying to get some service. We have previously had several cream teas in other establishments which were delightful afternoons so we knew what to expect and have always had a choice of sandwich.
