Ryedale Folk Museum features cottage gardens, traditional cornfield and atmospheric historic dwellings from prehistory to the 1950s, including an Iron Age roundhouse and a Tudor manor house. Some of the structures were saved from demolition and rebuilt by volunteers, while other have been recreated from the ground up. The buildings house period-specific collections assembled over the last five decades, attempting to show how people lived, worked and played in the past. To enhance the experience, the facility also offers activities such as Victorian toy making or countryside craft workshops.
