From Our Editors
Designed to be a relaxed and friendly hang-out space, The Purple Partridge is a family-run cafe and shop in Raskelf, on the outskirts of York. The eatery strives to use locally-sourced and sustainable ingredients where possible in its array of home-cooked food, including burgers, breakfasts, pulled pork and cakes. Owners Liz and Wayne Westmoreland also run a top-up shop featuring home essentials, locally-produced jams and chutneys, and rare-breed meats. The interior is bright and airy, with pastel colours and plenty of spacing, and features disabled access plus a children’s play area.
