We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at Burn Hall hotel, the food was delicious. Staff were polite and helpful. Would have given 5 stars but we found the room a little chilly.

Fabulous grounds, hotel and settings, afternoon tea was good but the room where served is very stark and uninspiring, would benefit from some wall hangings. The Bird of Prey visit was superb and definitely the highlight

The birds of prey centre is absolutely fantastic. You can really spend all day there. The flying displays are superb and the owner and staff are very informative and obviously love what they do. The afternoon tea was terrible. My black coffee was luke warm and had obviously been sat stewing for quite some time. Sandwiches were bacon lettuce and tomato, chicken tikka ( possibly ) cream cheese and cucumber. Bread was dry as though it had been sat uncovered for a while. Two scones which were nice. The cake selection was bland to say the least. Lemon and poppy seed, ginger and carrot cake, again dry and very small pieces. We left most of it. If it wasn’t for the fact that I had got a deal I would have definitely complained as it is supposed to cost £48 ! The staff that served us were polite. Please visit the bird of prey centre and give Burn Hall a miss. Oh, plus we sat outside and the chairs were rickety and it was literally lots of dirt ashtrays still on tables.
