We had afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it.
A good selection of items and free flowing tea or coffee.
We were able to choose a window seat with views across the channel and the Leas.
Not rushed and able to enjoy the visit.
As I have Coeliacs I had ordered a gluten free afternoon tea at the time of booking. Often I end up with just a few dry sandwiches and perhaps a little cake, but this was lovely.
There were home made gluten free scones to have with cream and jam, and little tartlets and cakes, as well as the savoury selection.
I was impressed that they had made a special effort to provide the same amount for me, as so often I do without extras. Many places remove things I cannot have, but do not offer an alternative.
We had afternoon tea for my sister's sixtieth birthday and it was a perfect setting with a beautiful room overlooking the Leas and the sea and a nice selection of teatime treats. If anything, we would have liked a few more savouries and sandwiches, but the quality of the sweet items was very good indeed.
