Flights of fancy become reality with two winch-launched gliding lessons (usually £79 each) at Bicester Gliding Centre. Adrenaline-junkies can learn how to fly safely and confidently in the hands of a seasoned instructor. Budding pilots will get to soar above the Oxfordshire countryside for up to 20 minutes. A three-month membership (£104) is also included, which will secure use of the centre's facilities for the duration of the period.
Based at Bicester Airfield, the Bicester Gliding Centre offers tuition for aviators of all abilities with the help of British Gliding Association instructors. Lessons provide up to 40 minutes in the air and reach heights of up to 4000ft, while half-day and five-day courses cover skills in more depth. Flying packages, days out and competitions are also arranged, and the school also helps pupils gain their National Private Pilots License for self-launching motorgliders.
