Animal loving youngsters aged eight to 15 get the chance to get up close and personal to some furry friends during an hour's penguin and meerkat feeding. Keepers will lead them into the two enclosures, relating interesting facts about the creatures, before feeding them with the help of the youthful guests. Kids may also get a chance to handle some baby meerkats, depending on the season.
Opened in 1991, Winkhill's Blackbrook Zoo is a registered charity which aims to advance public education of natural history and converse the natural world. It's home to 200 species of rare and some critically endangered birds, from penguins and pelicans to kookaburras and spoonbills. Children can come during educational visits and junior zoo keeper experience days, while adults can browse the beasts and take a break in the Scarlet Tearoom
