It was a lovely place and I will return in the Spring, but unfortunately going at this time of the year you don't get to see much. The "show off" otter in the viewing hut was so funny - put on a good performance rolling around and posing for the camera.

Really good day out. Great to get up close to so much British Wildlife. Animals are well looked after and the site is well organised and clean.

It was a super visit. My grand daughter and I enjoyed the talks immensley. We will visit again in the warmer weather when we hope to see the animals that were asleep ! ! I liked that all the animals have been rescued and are there only because they cannot be returned to the wild. We loved the man made hedgehog at the entrance too. It is fabulous. All helped by being half price and a tea shop.

I love the interactive talking whilst feeding the animals - really allows you to get up close and see them.

Always a good day to be had if you love our native wildlife, and more so if you enjoy photography. Get there at opening time to be assured of seeing the red squirrels, and make sure you see all of the talks. Good food and coffee in the restaurant too.

About British Wildlife Centre

Established in 1997 by David Mills, a farmer who had kept a herd of pedigree Jersey cows on the very same site since 1971, this wildlife centre was created to educate people about the native wildlife. As a privately-owned organisation, the centre uses its profits to improve the accommodation for animals, fuel breeding programmes and fund habitat conservation. Rarely seen species such as otters, Scottish wildcats and polecats, as well as foxes and beautiful free-flying British owls can all be found at the centre. The popular Keeper Talks give the chance to learn more about the animals and the challenges they face in the wild, while seeing them even closer.
