- Due to the nature of the material, a pilot hole must be drilled first, to prevent the screw from shearing
- Screws should be tightened by hand

- Not suitable for bathrooms or unheated/damp rooms
- Cast Iron is a ferrous metal and is prone to rust
- Regular maintenance with a household wax polish is required to help prevent rusting
