The Guardian

Recent reviews of the Philharmonia Orchestra attracted 4/5 stars from both The Financial Times and The Guardian. Critics complimented the dexterous performers, and found programmes to be well-judged, noting the orchestra’s take on a variety of pieces.

“The gossamer-light depiction of Queen Mab sparkled with detail; the long love scene was cool, but tender; and the switchback reverses of the drama, where the music becomes so violently unpredictable, met with razor-sharp playing from the Philharmonia.”

Richard Fairman, The Financial Times, September 2013
