WILLARD WIGAN’S MICROSCOPIC ART IS A BIG DEAL AT RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT! LONDON THIS SUMMER
This summer guests at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London will be able to get up close to incredible sculptures such as an astonishing nine camels in the eye of the needle to the extraordinary Homer and Bart Simpson on the head of a pin!
Marvel at the selection of miniature exhibits on display through a microscope as Willard Wigan’s sculptures are of such minute proportions they can virtually not be seen with the naked eye. Willard Wigan’s sculptures are so tiny that to achieve the desired outcome Willard enters a meditative state in which his heartbeat is slowed, allowing him to reduce hand tremors and sculpt between pulse beats. After learning about Willard Wigan’s work and technique, guests can test their own steady hand with various interactive games on display in the exhibition. Willard’s artwork is of such high calibre that it has been described by many as the ‘eighth wonder of the world’ and he was honoured by HM. Queen Elizabeth II with an MBE for service to art.
After navigating their way through the wonderful Willard Wigan’s gallery, guests can continue to gaze through a selection of unbelievable exhibits from a life-size knitted Ferrari, a transformer made up of recycled metal and amazing art such as Kate Middleton made from lipstick kisses to canvas. If this isn’t enough excitement guest can enjoy interactive games and experiences such as the mirror maze and a LaseRace game.
The spectacular Willard Wigan exhibition is at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London for a limited time only.
