About Gunsgreen House Trust
Built in 1753 by a local smuggler John Nisbet, Gunsgreen House has a moniker of "the house of secrets" - its rooms conceal numerous hiding places meant for storing ill-gotten goods, as well as the unique "tea chute", where the smuggled tea was kept from the prying eyes. Children can dress as smugglers and embark on an old-fashioned adventure, solving riddles and completing puzzles hidden inside the house. Families that wish to stay close can sleep in the nearby Merchant's House or Nisbet's Tower.
