What You'll Get
Calm waters, wildlife and verdant riverbanks can be explored via narrowboat along the 17-miles stretch of the Shropshire Union Canal. The self-drive vessel holds up to ten guests and features a kitchen galley with cooker for self-catering ease. Alternatively, the canal has many a pubs dotted along the stretch for stop-offs during the day, which runs from 9am-4.30pm. The 32-foot long boat also has enclosed seating, as well as room in the front for when the sun makes an appearance.
Established in 2005, Norbury Wharf has since developed a marina and boatyard offering a series of public trips, as well as themed events including murder mysteries and Santa cruises. The Shropshire Star is available for special celebrations, and narrowboats can be hired for cruising at one's own speed. The company is based on the Shropshire Union Canal, working as an convenient base for cruises around the Four Counties Ring. Those with their own boats can make use of the Wharf's painters, who beautify boats with traditional canal art and sign-writing.
Norbury Wharf is cruising along with nearly 880 followers on Twitter.
