Buccaneering spirit abounds as the 11th-century Tutbury Castle hosts an array of pirate-themed family activities over the bank holiday. A family of four swashbucklers can mosey about the castle grounds to hunt for treasure, pan for gold, and walk the plank. Further attractions include live battles, donkey rides, face painting, old-timey fairground rides and paddling pools. Visitors are encouraged to don their finest pirate garb, and may encounter the roaming Captain Jack and his crew of seafarers. Attendees can also opt to take in the opulent interior of the great hall, and perhaps embark on a guided tour for plenty of historical insight.
