With Open Kitchen's cooking class, participants will spend an evening working with Northern, Eastern and Western African ingredients to learn the culinary arts of the regions. Whether the objective is to learn about the various cultures and their cuisines, enjoy an evening with fellow chefs, or discover a new recipe, individuals can congregate at the Hoxton Street kitchen for an evening session on selected weekdays. Each participant will also receive a glass of wine, which can be exchanged for a soft drink. Once the food has been prepared, culinary artists can dig into their meals, with the option of bringing a friend to share their creation.
Open Kitchen functions and flourishes as a restaurant and teaching centre, boasting a fashionable setting and ingredients from local suppliers. Students of the school are involved in the preparation and serving of food as part of their education, learning authentic recipes from around the world in the process. All classes support local talent and the London City Hospitality Centre, with profits reinvested into bursaries, uniforms, enrichment programs and childcare support.
