About Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway
Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway is a World Heritage Site at the edge of Brecon Beacons. The three-mile track was constructed in the 19th century and was initially used to transport coal from the surrounding mines. Journeys start at Furnace Sidings and take passengers through the panoramas of rural Torfaen to three other stations. Visitors can also make use of the tea room, gift shop and free parking at Furnace Sidings, and many trains also offer a buffet car serving light refreshments.
