Small but beautifully designed, with lots of areas to explore. We went at the start of autumn (in October) and it was still very pretty. Would love to go back in the summer to experience different colours.
Also enjoyed the cream tea.
My only criticism is that it would be nice if they had plants for sale to the general public, I’m a big fan of Acers and would definitely buy som
Pleasant peaceful garden but too many plastic lily pads and fairy lights - they probably look enchanting after dark but in daylight looked a bit tacky. The same applies to the crystal garden.
Cafe disappointing; the heavenly scones were very ordinary, the tables were sticky and the crockery wasn’t quite sparkling.
Fabulous place. My friend and I enjoyed the experience so much, we booked a 2 hour meditation session. I would give Pure Land 10 if I could. Such a magical, relaxing place. I will definitely be going again next year when the garden opens again.

About Pure Land Japanese Garden and Meditation Centre
North Clifton's Pure Land Meditation Centre and Japanese Garden, just minutes from the River Trent, has been influenced by the experience of Maitreya to turn two acres of flat field into a hilly garden, characterised by features, flora and fauna such as bamboo, carp, evergreens and stone lanterns. In addition to a peaceful Zen garden, the centre offers individual and group tuition on meditation, 'Nature's Heart' concerts featuring songs and haikus, and Japanese tea ceremonies.
