Cream tea was great however the hotel was in need of a refurbishment / the spa treatment was ok - but no robe & was cold - we just had our treatment & left the spa as it didn’t feel like we could just relax there
The spa had staffing issues & were doing their best but it didn’t inspire us to go back
The Spa side of the hotel was a little shabby, could really do with an overhaul.
I wasn't able to have my booked treatment as they use Lavender and didn't have time to make anything else up for me even though I had let them know 3 hrs before my treatment.
The afternoon tea was mismatched sandwiches, cakes that were cut across the middle so someone had a topping and another didn't - I think we perhaps had what was left that day!
I don't like leaving negative reviews but as there was more than one issue thought it best to warn people in case they book for a special celebration as they may be disappointed.
The setting is amazing as sun can shine in to the room with swimming pool, jacuzzi and lounging areas, as well as a sitting area with tables and chairs. The doors open out onto a lovely balcony with views of the sea and pier.
Massage was great, and the sauna and steam room adequate. The only drawback would be the changing facilities which are a bit tired and dated. Hairdryers are almost useless and no way of plugging in your own. Two showers with curtains and not much room for adjusting makeup etc. This really needs updating. The afternoon tea was confusing as I had booked a specific time which the barman had no idea about and just needed the voucher (which had been taken from me at the spa). Afternoon tea was nice and we managed to eat it all no problem. All-in-all nice surroundings but lacked that extra touch.
