Product Details
Today’s Groupon offers Two or Three Imperata Red Baron 9cm Plants, distributed by Van Meuwen.
- A cordon variety that can produce trusses of flavoursome, bite-sized cherry tomatoes
- Easy to grow and maintain
- Can be grown in a greenhouse or on the patio in a grow bag or pot
- Fruits are ready to harvest from July through until October
- When planting position in full sun
- Supplied as plug plants, pot on arrival and grow until established
- At maturity expect a height of 200cm (79’’) and spread of 50cm (20’’)
- Try growing tomatoes with French marigolds to deter whitefly, and basil, chives or mint to deter aphids and other pests
- Water tomato plants frequently, to keep the compost evenly moist
- Feed tomatoes regularly with a high potash plant food
- Tie the main stems to their supports and remove any sideshoots that develop between the main stem and the leaf stems
