Stop At: Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, Edwinstowe, Mansfield NG21 9RN England

You will wander among the ancient oak trees of Sherwood Forest, learning about ecology, history, archaeology, the medieval Forest and Forest Law, Robin Hood, Outlaws, villains, kings and peasants. As you meander your way beneath the ancient boughs your expert tour guide will read literature and quote poetry from the ancient ballads of Robin Hood, as well as teaching you all about the development of the Robin Hood legends, and the history of this magical landscape.
Eventually you will arrive at the majestic Major Oak, a 1000 year old tree at the heart of the Forest which is the legendary hideaway of Robin Hood. You will also visit the ancient veteran oak trees, the noble patriarchs of the Forest and the expansive heather-clad heath land to the north.
