Day 1: Bath

Enjoy a walking tour of beautiful Bath with your highly knowledgeable, experienced tour guide. You’ve arrived at one of the best places to find out more about Jane Austen, our favourite author. Jane paid two long visits to Bath towards the end of the eighteenth century, and from 1801 to 1806 Bath was her home. It also provides the backdrop to two of her novels, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion, and features in her other novels and in the collection of letters to her sister, Cassandra.

Discover Bath's influences on Jane Austen. Come and meet costumed ‘character’ guides, and enjoy being shown Bath’s fascinating history and its associations with Jane Austen and her family. The Centre also now features a specially commissioned waxwork of Jane – two years in the making, with the assistance of an internationally-renowned sculptor, an FBI-trained forensic artist and a Bafta and Emmy award-winning costume designer.
