I’m Freddie, a wine aficionado, history graduate and professional storyteller! When I decided to write my undergraduate thesis on the historical pubs of London my mother was not best pleased… However, five years later, following jobs in hospitality, tourism and wine retail I have just launched a new and unique tour that that educates, entertains and, most importantly, brings people together.Join me on a stroll through the West End to discover just how Britain changed the world of wine. From the Knights’ Templar to the Napoleonic Wars with lashings of Claret and Port along the way (so long as you pass it correctly!) We will be stopping en route at the Ritz, the Savoy and Berry Bros and Rudd for a social history of how the other half drink…Refreshing ourselves at the more affordable drinking dens as we discover just how and why a beer-loving nation, incapable of growing their own vines, became so obsessed with wine…
