This beautiful moated castle was built in the late 14th century from profits made in the Hundred Years War. Described as the most aesthetically pleasing castle in Somerset. Cross the moat and wander inside the castle ruins.

England’s smallest city, medieval Wells is enchanting with it’s glorious 13th Century Cathedral. The city, which can be traced back to Roman times, takes its name from the small springs which bubbled up and which can still be found in the gardens of the wonderful moated Bishops residence. Explore the charming Vicar's Close, claimed to be the oldest purely residential street with original buildings surviving intact in Europe. You will also find a delightful market in Wells on most Wednesdays.

This charming former market town, and recently popular New Age hangout is packed with a colourful array of shops and cafes and is usually our lunch stop. Travelling back to Bath we pass through the rugged landscape of Cheddar Gorge, one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks with its awe-inspiring cliffs. Sample some of the famous Cheddar Cheese and Somerset cider at a local cider farm.
