An array of prey on display. Those in open averies are tethered and others are free to fly within caged enclosures.
All the birds look healthy and well cared for and their handlers are very knowledgible and happy to discuss any aspects of the care plans for each bird.
There are 2 displays each day (at 12noon and 3pm respectively). The 3pm display we attended was very informative for the adults within our group, and the children (aged 2 to 7) enjoyed the swooping displays of the owl, eagle, kestrel and vulture. The seating is tiered for good visibility of the entire show by all attending. The display lasts 45mins approximately with further time for questions and answers with members of the friendly and approachable staff.
There is also a well stocked cafe and a small adjacent outdoor play area suitable for under 10s with some tables and seating so you can enjoy your lunch while the children play. Toilets are clean and there is ample free parking including an overflow car park area for peak periods.
Allow 3-4 hours to see all the birds, including the display.
Overall an enjoyable family afternoon out for three generations of our group. Definitely worth a visit.
