Meze comes from the Persian word meaning “to taste” which is precisely the aim of the game with the ten-dish meal at Yamal Al Sham. The Imperial Wharf restaurant dishes up Lebanese favourites such as falafel, lamb parcels, and mixed cheese and herb parcels, as well as sfiha – a small Lebanese pizza topped with minced lamb, pine nuts and tomatoes. Dessert will be the sweet baklava pastry dish.
Hummus Crudites Kibbé mekliyeh - deep fried lamb and cracked wheat parcels, filled with onions and pine nuts Salatet Almawsam - seasonal salad Fatayer - baked pastry triangles filled with baby spinach, spring onions and sumac Falafel Cheese Sambousek - deep fried pastry parcels filled with mixed cheese and herbs Sfiha - small Lebanese pizza topped with minced lamb, onions, pine nuts and tomatoes Spicy potato Moujadara - cooked lentil with rice topped with caramelised onion
Groupon finds out about Yamal Al Sham’s Middle Eastern cuisine.
G: What kind of cuisine is served? The fare is primarily authentic Lebanese and Syrian, with some flavours from Europe and the Far East featured. Traditional dishes are mixed with modern influences.
G: What are some of the dishes offered? As well as meze platters that allow customers to taste a wealth of different dishes, plates can be ordered on an a la carte basis, too, with starters such as moussaka and tabboule, and mains such as chicken skewers.
G: What else does the restaurant offer? There are a wide range of distinct flavours for their post-meal, outdoor shisha, and Fridays and Saturdays come alive with belly dancing performances.
