About Pauls Boutique
Immersing himself in the music and fashion scene of the early 90’s, Paul Slade started to make bespoke t-shirts for his friends and family. Influenced by american artist Jeff Koons, Paul created a limited run of t-shirts and hoodies under the name ‘slade‘, which he sold to seminal '90s boutiques ‘sign of the times’, ‘ishi ni san’ and new york store ‘union‘ (now the cult ‘supreme’ label).
Paul, motivated by his love of vintage clothing, graffiti, 80’s hip hop and japanese street brands, decided to create his own brand - Paul’s Boutique - named after the iconic Beastie Boy album. Paul used his brother’s small workshop to hand customise and print original army surplus, denim and sweatshirts. Paul’s Boutique bespoke products captured the eclectic spirit of London style and quickly gained a cult following of fashionable young Londoners seeking bold unapologetic designs.
Paul established a regular pitch at West London’s famous portobello street market in 2000 and stylists and retailers soon took notice of this exciting new brand, mixing customisation with rare vintage finds. Paul was soon offered his own concession in Topshop’s flagship Oxford circus store.
The brand experienced huge growth, especially after the launch of their hugely successful handbag line. Now the creative director of the company, Paul still designs with the London girl in mind. He is continually inspired by the diversity of styles, music, cultural influences and attitudes that exist in this exciting, fast moving city.
Paul’s boutique is a brand with its own unmistakable identity which sells uniquely designed pieces that attract celebrities and key influencers such as Rita Ora, Delilah, Jamie Winston, Mary Charteris and has featured in coveted titles, including Style magazine and vogue.com.
Now in their 13th year, Paul’s Boutique is firmly established in the international fashion arena and is now selling across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South Africa. Global expansion continues season after season.
