Foodies Festival

Cannon Hill Park hosts a weekend of gastronomic delights as the Foodies Festival comes to Birmingham. Attendees (usually up to £13 for standard entry) can roam the varied site from 11am-7pm on Friday and Saturday, 11am-6pm Sunday with the help of a handy show guide (£4). The Chefs’ Theatre houses demonstrations and talks from seasoned experts. Pop-up restaurants serve regional food and drink and a street food avenue take taste buds on an international journey. Demonstrations from Michelin-star and TV chefs will delight, as will the chance to try out bee keeping, butchery, cheese selecting and foraging at the Tasting Theatre. Fans of real ales and ciders can relax on a hay bale to discuss the beverages with an on-site expert, whilst fans of Pimms and cocktails are also catered for. Brave visitors can stop by the chilli food market and perhaps enter a chilli eating challenge. Children’s workshops provide youngsters an entertaining introduction to cooking at the children’s cookery theatre. Patrons may opt for VIP tickets (£48) for entry to the VIP lounge, a glass of bubbly on arrival, a goody bag and complimentary refreshments.
