At this lively bar, pairs can share a choice of signature platter. Options are available to appease a variety of tastes, including the anti pasti spread of cured meats, sun dried tomatoes, cubed melon, gherkins, fig relish and rustic bread. A cheese platter features a selection of cheeses served with crackers, bread, fruit cake, honey, chutney, grapes and celery, while other platters include nachos or camembert to share. A cocktail for each guest is served alongside the fare, adding a little glitz to the occasion. Familiar cocktails such as a Bellini, mojito, and cosmopolitan feature on the drinks list, alongside more adventurous mixed concoctions like the Frankiestein zombie.

The Merchant

Frankies Wine Bar is a well-rounded venue, offering food, drinks and live entertainment from its Buxton Old Road base. Using local suppliers, the bar’s food menu is changed weekly and seasonally although chef’s specials, platters, light bites and afternoon tea remain a mainstay throughout. The drinks menu is also prone to frequent modification with a variety of cocktails including a classic martini or something a little more contemporary available. All this can be enjoyed with the backdrop of live entertainment, from bands and soloists to themed jazz nights.
