The Deal
The hearty Sunday lunch can begin with the likes of home-made vine tomato soup (usually £4.45). Prime topside of roast beef, half a roasted chicken, reared pork (all £6.99) or lamb shank (£7.99) are traditional favourites when it comes to main courses, while the stuffed butternut squash works for veggies (£7.49). The dessert menu provides a sweet finale, with hot chocolate fudge cake (£3.95) and sticky toffee pudding *(£3.45) available, as well as the savoury Oxfordshire cheeseboard (£4.95).
The Merchant
The Jolly Farmers is a historic tavern situated in Oxford city centre dating back to around the 1300's. The pub was partly built using the old city walls, and provides authentic flavours of the past with its real ales available on tap. Inside, the fresh decor strikes a modern balance, with the quiet garden providing an equally tasteful setting for a quick brew or a hearty meal.
