The Hotel

Set in the heart of Thomas Hardy county, the traditional shepherd's huts are located within the grounds of Drusilla's Inn and boast views of the nearby 17th century Horton Folly Tower. The accommodation is just a 14-minute drive to Blashford Lakes Natures Reserve and the edge of the New Forest, where days out can be spent hiking, cycling and horse riding through the national park. Coastal views aplenty are just 25 minutes away, while a little further on is Poole, where water sports, land activities and sites of interest abound.

• Made by local craftsmen using traditional methods, the huts are named after different breeds of local sheep. Bedding and towels are included, and each hut has hot showers, flushing toilets and tea and coffee making facilities

• During the summer months, outside furniture and a fire cage is provided so that guests can soak up the daytime rays or evening breeze

• Drusilla's Inn is located inside a traditionally thatched building, with rustic charm emanating from low ceilings and cosy fires. Meals are served seven days a week, with an extensive accompanying menu of international wines, local ales and ciders
