The Deal

Technically minded students can learn various skills to help detect hackers and work to protect various computer systems with a choice of vendor-neutral course. The EC-Council CEH certified Ethical Hacking course (usually £800) teaches participants about hacking methods in order to help them devise ways to protect systems from attack, while the Hacking Forensic Investigator (£800) modules look at ways to gather evidence of illicit system entry. Both courses include lab exercises to help practise what has been learned, with modules accessible for 12 months from registration date.

Course Content

• Certified Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures Course

Participants will look into various ways of gaining access to different systems over the course of 21 modules. Armed with this knowledge, ways to prevent their use to gain entry into systems will be examined, with students taught how to secure corporate networks and keep abreast of security and exploit developments.

• Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator Course

These 23 modules explore the various ways to examine evidence of a hack, as well as methods for gathering the evidence needed to potentially help secure a prosecution. Crime reporting will also be looked into, as well as ways to audit systems in order to help try and prevent future intrusions.
