How to Use Promo Codes & Troubleshooting Tips
Last updated: March 2026
Groupon offers promo codes that are limited-time discounts on specific deals, deal types, or merchandise. You might find a promo code on a site banner, through a mobile notification, or via email. Each promo code has its own eligibility rules, expiration date, discount limits, and other restrictions.
Purchasing a Groupon Deal with a Promo Code
Check eligibility: Check the Fine Print of the deal you want to purchase to confirm whether it is eligible for promo codes. If a deal is not eligible, you will see language similar to: "Not valid with other offers or promotions." Deal eligibility may change over time.
Apply the code: To apply a promo code, either click “Apply” on eligible deal pages or enter the promo code manually on the checkout page in the field labeled “Enter Promo Code” and click “Apply.”
Sometimes, Groupon may display a potential final price in purple, showing what you could pay if an eligible promo code were successfully applied. This amount is for illustrative purposes only and does not represent a guaranteed or final purchase price. No discount is confirmed, unless and until the promo code is successfully applied at checkout.
Promo codes, eligibility, and potential discounted prices shown on the deal page may differ from those shown in emails, push notifications, or other channels at any time. In the event of any discrepancy, the price and eligibility shown at checkout will control.
Verify Total: Check that any applicable discount is reflected in your order total before placing your order. Promo codes do not apply to taxes, shipping, or other fees.
Discount Limits: The actual discount amount may vary depending on the type of deal and may be subject to a maximum dollar cap or other restrictions, as disclosed in the promotion terms.
If Your Promo Code Won't Apply
One Code Per Order: Unless otherwise stated, only one promo code may be applied per order, and promo codes can only be used once.
