The Deal
Marine Matters offer a practical training one-day course to get to grips with motor cruising. With safety equipment and food provided, students can climb aboard and learn to set the anchor, secure the boat to a buoy as well as take the helm themselves. Accompanied by a professional instructor, the course is available for children as young as eight.
The Merchant
A broad selection of powerboat and motor cruising training courses are available with Marine Matters, where visitors can take on the sea survival course, have a family training session or learn first-aid. The powerboat and motor cruising courses are available at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels and reward participants with certificates at the end. The centre is based at the mouth of the River Hamble.
