What We Offer
Join a Master Distiller in the distilling room, where you’ll be sampling the distillery’s gin/rum, discussing your ideas, and getting the low-down on botanicals.
Experience Ticket (over 18's only)
Make your own gin or rum at the Devon Gin and Rum School
Knowledge at the ready, the two of you will head to your copper still and create your unique gin or rum. You’ll even design your own label, perfect for when you take home your 35cl bottle to show off to family and friends.

What happens on the day?
- On arrival at Devon Distillery, you’ll meet the Lead Distiller who’ll be your guide for the day.
- Sample the distillery’s own spirits, spend some time discussing your ideas, and then choose from a selection of botanicals to create your own unique bottle using a copper mini still.
- You’ll even get to design a custom-made label, before taking home your unique 35cl bottle of gin or rum.
- Please note for an extra £20 you can upgrade to a 70cl bottle or 2 x 35cl bottles (payable to the school on the day).
Availability
- The experience runs year-round, Thursday to Saturday 12.30 - 14.30, and Sunday 15.30 - 17.30.
- Exclusions may apply.
- Group sizes are restricted to a maximum of 20 as there are 10 stills available to book.
- Each still is shared by two people.
- We recommend you book at least two weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. Bookings may be taken as late as the day before the experience subject to availability.
- Please allow up to 2 hours for the full experience.
- Those attending the experience will be offered gin tasting and there are some limited soft drinks available for anyone driving.
How do I make my booking?

- Navigate to the voucher redemption part of the site where you will see Groupon as an option.
- Follow the directions on the website – select the date and time of the session and input your voucher details, before the expiry of the voucher.
- The center may require proof of your voucher so retain this for your records.

✦ Any persons attending the experience may be asked to produce ID and failure to produce may result in that person being unable to attend the experience. They reserve the right to refuse entry those who are deemed to be intoxicated.
✦ Whilst there is disabled access to the site, it is located on a steep hill. Please advise in advance if someone wishes to take part and is wheel chair bound as places are limited for this. No spectators allowed.

About Devon Distillery
Based within The Cider Press Centre complex, Devon Rum School & Devon Gin School are located on the edge of the rural Dartington Hall Estate. Experienced distillers lead workshops where all Rum and Gin lovers can learn about the process of creating the spirits and make either their own 70cl bottle of Rum or 35cl bottle of Gin, with their very own designed label. Outside of classes, patrons can find an on-site shop selling different tipples, including flavored liqueurs. Fans of mixed cocktails can find a collection of both Rum and Gin-inspired recipes on the school's website.
